When pop punk artists decide to record a Christmas song…

I’d never listened to a pop punk Christmas song before, but there’s a first time for everything!

All Time Low’s frontman Alex Gaskarth has teamed up with members of Good Charlotte, Simple Plan and 5 Seconds of Summer to revamp the classic Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, and here’s the result:

The pop punk rendition of this classic Christmas song is probably not what one would expect during this holy, peaceful (as if!) holiday season; but it is definitely joyful and it’s about time we listened to something other than the usual pop stuff!

The track was produced by Goldfinger’s frontman and well-known producer John Feldmann and it features GC’s Joel Madden, Simple Plan’s Pierre Bouvier and 5SOS’s Ashton Irwin.

Gaskarth has also urged people to donate to the The Ryan Seacrest Foundation, to help raise money for “an amazing cause”. As he mentioned on Facebook:

Hello my loves! Around this time last year, me and some good friends thought it’d be fun to record a holiday jam for the world to hear. We lit a fire, made hot chocolate, and put our musical spin on a holiday classic, with producer genius, John Feldmann at the helm!
We all knew we wanted to do something special with it to help people, so we decided to wait until this year to give everyone a listen! We’ve been working with Ryan Seacrest Foundation to raise money for an amazing cause, so we ask that in return for this track, you donate whatever you can spare to the foundation. Please follow the links and give whatever you can!

Big thanks to Ashton (5 Seconds of Summer), Joel (Good Charlotte), Pierre (Simple Plan), and John (Goldfinger) for collaborating on this with me! Holiday super groups are the best kind!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and thanks for listening! Hope you enjoy!
