Green Day unveil ‘Still Breathing’ music video

A month after the release of their twelfth studio album, Green Day have just unveiled the music video for the second single off Revolution Radio. Still Breathing follows the loud Bang Bang, which introduced the record pretty spectacularly.

But the punk trio from California have now moved on to something more sentimental, with a ‘pop-punk ballad’ that slightly echoes their American Idiot days – only in a less impressive way, I must say. The track explores loneliness and despair, which Green Day have dealt with before in their previous albums.

While the lyrics are beautifully gloomy, though – maybe even miserable, somehow giving me the Boulevard of Broken Dreams vibes, Still Breathing is sadly nowhere near such a masterpiece. In any case, it’s a decent song and the clip offers some amazing scenery, which clearly does it justice.
