Earlier this month, Ed Sheeran made a powerful comeback, releasing two new singles out of his upcoming album, ÷(Divide). Castle On The Hill was one of them, its nostalgic lyrics and emotional music already having us anticipate the new record.
The musician has now unveiled the video for the song and it’s equally beautiful and nostalgic, just as you would expect. Sheeran takes a trip down memory lane, visiting England, and more specifically his hometown, Suffolk, giving us a little taste of his teenage years.
From playing pool to dancing and getting drunk, this definitely echoes most people’s teenage years – minus the amazing scenery perhaps! His friends’ sort of grim stories towards the end of the track are a little disheartening, but, as Sheeran sings, “these people raised [him]”; and this clip couldn’t have shown it better.
