Lily Allen covers ‘Going To A Town’ for Women’s March in London

Women’ March saw millions of people around the world protest for women’s rights and – in turn – against US president Donald Trump’s sexist policies. Lily Allen was one of those people; the singer took part in the March in London and filmed a cover of Rufus Wainwright’s 2007 song Going To A Town.

The track couldn’t be more fitting for the occasion. Although I prefer Wainwright’s original, dark and dramatic version, Allen’s more stripped-down take definitely allows for the powerful clip to stand out.

As we listen to the singer’s chilling vocals, we watch parts of the March, with the chants of the people at some points heard louder than the music. The song also features a musical arrangement by Mark Ronson.
