Alicia Keys is taking the world by storm with her new album, her impressive work as a judge for The Voice and her refusal to wear make-up – proving that women can look perfect just the way they are. (Of course, not all of us have Keys’ flawless skin, but that’s a topic for a different kind of post.)
Next to her natural, glowing complexion, Keys’ talent has also been shining bright ever since the release of her debut single, Fallin’. For this Throwback Thursday, though, I decided to go with another one of her soulful ballads. If I Ain’t Got You was included in Keys’ 2004 album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, and was inspired by the 9/11 attacks, as well as R&B singer Aaliyah’s untimely death in 2001.
“Some people want diamond rings, some just want everything
But everything means nothing, if I ain’t got you”
