James Corden loves to torture his guests with disgusting food every now and then. The Late Late Show host has now invited Kate Perry to a hilarious round of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts and, for the first time, something strange has happened.
While most guests force themselves to eat all kinds of gross ‘food’, from bull’s semen to bird saliva, in order to avoid answering Corden’s hard questions, Perry was so disgusted by the culinary options on the table that she made an honest effort to actually give some truthful answers.
For example, when it came to choosing between a 1,000-year-old egg and ranking her lovers, she chose the latter! That’s right; the singer revealed on air that, out of three of her relationships, Orlando Bloom was the best in bed, with John Mayer and then Diplo following suit. Honestly, I would have just eaten the egg! Also, how Corden predicted Diplo’s third place, I’ll never know.
The clip includes many more fun moments, such as Corden having to admit he turned down The Wanted for his Carpool Karaoke segment. As for the band’s fans who, according to Perry, must be angry with the host after this statement, Corden will “happily meet all seven of them in the parking lot at some point!”
On another note, how good does Katy Perry look in the morning!
The last time Harry Styles was found singing in James Corden’s car was about a year and a half ago, when he was still one fourth of One Direction. Now, Styles has returned as a solo artist and, somehow, this feels right!
I can’t say this is the most entertaining Carpool Karaoke episode ever – after all, Corden has offered us some amazing ones ever since the segment started – but I can definitely say it’s one of the most interesting ones music-wise.
Styles recently released his debut solo album and this fun car ride is also an excellent way for him to promote his new songs; and he does so successfully. But if you thought he’d be one more Zayn-like r’n’b/ electro artist wanting to blend in, then guess again!
Styles is actually going for soulful – hell, I might even dare to say indie! – with his music. And it seems to be suiting him very well. Who knew he’d be the one from the 1D gang to show his emotional side?
So even though this Carpool Karaoke wasn’t as funny as some of the previous ones, it introduced us to Styles’ bold solo venture, and for that, it was more than worth it. Plus, it’s safe to say he can pull off any outfit!
James Corden decided to profess his love for Victoria Beckham in what appears to be a short remake of the 1987 film Mannequin; or, as the narrator calls it, “the reboot no one asked for”.
In the hilarious clip, The Late Late Show host falls in love with a mannequin version of Beckham, whom he sees as a real woman. The two of them develop an unlikely bond, even though people see Corden as a crazy person talking to a dummy. Still, “she taught [him] how to laugh”.
But when the time comes and dummy Beckham feels she wants to be with “others like [her]”, Corden agrees to let her go and reunites her with her fellow mannequins. On the road, the IRL former Spice Girl sings along to Spice Up Your Life, giving us a taste of that Carpool Karaoke we’re probably never gonna get.
It’s no secret that Ellen DeGeneres is not very good at memorising lyrics. Just the other day, she couldn’t even remember the lyrics to her own show’s theme song! But who knew she’d beat this year’s Grammy Awards host and living music encyclopedia, James Corden?
The two hosts played ‘Finish the Lyric’, where they were given a lyric of a song and had to find and sing the next one on their own. Even though Corden got off to a good start, Ellen quickly caught up and, soon enough, he found himself in the loser’s seat!
Jesse Tyler Ferguson was the one hosting the hilarious game; although he was admittedly underqualified for the role, he was very cute and funny, as always. The Modern Family star earlier discussed his future career steps with Ellen, while complaining about the super-strict ‘caveman diet’ he and his husband are on!
We’ve all heard people tell ghost stories from time to time and some are scarier than others. Then again, it all depends on how chill you are as a person. And it seems Johnny Galecki and Sting are pretty cool when it comes to ghosts, even though they are actually living with them!
Sting revealed to James Corden that he lives in a 16th-century manor house in Stonehenge, England, and, as he pointed out, “If you haven’t got a ghost at a 16th-century manor house you need one!” – which somehow makes total sense. So, apparently, it came as no surprise to Sting and his wife when they found a woman with a baby standing in their bedroom in the middle of the night.
But this one-time supernatural experience sounds like a tiny incident compared to Johnny Galecki’s seriously haunted house. It turns out The Big Bang Theory actor has been happily living with ghosts the whole time! But as Galecki sees it, they can “all be roomies” in his 150-year-old “very inhabited” cabin.
As long as everyone follows some established rules, that is. One of those is ‘never talk about the ghosts inside the house’. Corden did not seem to like that rule, but I’m with Galecki on that one! I mean, you clearly don’t want to upset them in any way, so it might be best to keep your mouth shut…
Oh the boring lives we lead.
They say that running around with your kids can be the best workout and I bet James Corden had his own kids in mind when he decided to create this hilarious segment for The Late Late Show. The host has invited several guests to his made-up ‘toddlerography class’ so far and the outcome is always super funny.
So if you thought your gym instructor was too much, wait till you see this! After Jenna Dewan Tatum, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jason Derulo, Kate Hudson was the next in line to be taught how to dance by cute toddlers. And, I must say, she did a pretty amazing job, considering these ‘instructors’ “made The Rock cry!” according to Corden.
It’s really surprising how the actress managed to follow the kids’ crazy moves and still look flawless; then again, her Fabletics pair of leggings did help! Hudson was also kind enough to share some of her own workout moves while on the show, which possibly made some of the other guests slightly uncomfortable (see below).
When I saw the trailer of The Late Late Show with Madonna as Carpool Karaoke’s latest guest, it didn’t seem that appealing… I mean, sure, she did twerk from inside the car, but, still, it didn’t look very interesting.
Then, of course, I was totally wrong! It turns out Madonna was absolutely hilarious in the segment and it was nice seeing her revisit some of her oldest hits, like Vogue, Papa Don’t Preach and Express Yourself. It’s impressive how these songs still hold up today.
What really took me by surprise, though, is how funny Madonna is and, apparently, that’s what she’s also looking for in a man.
“You have to have a sense of humour and understand my sense of humour, otherwise we are dead in the water,” she told James Corden, before going on to praise him for being funny, but also criticise his fashion sense! You can’t have everything, I guess…
